Prison Minister/Guest Follow-up Director

Bruce and his wife Katheleen joined New Life Worship Center four years ago.  When he and his wife arrived, Bruce already had a passion for and was involved with a prison ministry.  Since his arrival at New Life Worship Center and with the leadership of Pastor Hehnke and two fellow ministers, the prison ministry has been blessed with growth.  In addition, Bruce and Katheleen oversee the guest follow-up program and teach Bible studies as well as teach two of the Christian Maturity classes.

Bruce’s passion for prison ministry goes back nine years, when God involved him in a prison ministry through a friend at church.  When the friend had to leave suddenly due to job responsibilities Bruce was handed the reigns of the fledgling ministry.  At that time, God placed a burden on Bruce’s heart to continue the ministry with a passion to make a difference in the lives of incarcerated men by leading them to a new life in Christ.

What started with only a few dozen men with only one service a month and numerous setbacks and disappointments has now flourished.  Now there are two services each month with over 100 attending each service, and several hundred men having been baptized in Jesus name.  God has established a Pentecostal Men’s Church inside the prison facility, and as Bruce continues to follow the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:36; 40, he has plans to establish ministry training for those incarcerated.
