David & Mai Smith

Outreach Minister

David is originally from the Detroit, Michigan metro area, but is now a Bossier City resident where he retired after 20 years of active duty service in the US Air Force.  He holds two associate degrees and a bachelors in Religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virgina.  Bro. David currently works for Southern University’s YouthBuild Program.

Raised to believe in the power of God from a young age, then Sergeant Smith returned to the service of the Lord after returning from a tour in Afghanistan.  For four years he was heavily involved with helping folks suffering from addiction.  He has spent countless hours organizing events, engaging the community and transporting people to worship services.  Additionally he has been responsible for leading a Bible study for over nine years.

David enjoys canoeing the local rivers and bayous, hiking the nature trails, hunting, competitive shooting and spending time with his wife Mai (pronounced ‘My’).

David and his wife, Mai were the parents of one daughter, Hadassah, who went to be with Jesus in October of 2017. 21 year old daughter, Victoria, with whom he loves to spend time, current lives in Arizona.
